About Us
We begin training
the pups at a very
young age and they
are very willing and
eager students.
In a very short
time they begin to
learn such things
as turning light
switches on and
off.

The program founders began this program in 2002.
They formed a partnership between the
Assistance Service Dog Educational Center
and the Woodlake Union High School District.  It
sharpens the focus of students finding their purpose in
life helping in a canine training program.  The dogs they
train enrich the lives of people dealing with the daily
challenges of life resulting from disabilities.

Student trainers are selected on the basis of their
written applications and a subsequent oral interview that
helps assure that the successful candidates have the
necessary character, attributes and resilience to
participate in the program.  Each class is a two year
commitment on the part of the kids selected for the
program.  Every school year one team of eight students
and dogs graduate and then the dogs go on to be
placed with clients with special needs.
This is a nonprofit organization funded through the
generous support of the community, clubs, fund raising
events and grants.
We are a non-profit
501(c)(3) organization
